Support
Steading is a small, private app for one family. Support is a person reading email, not a help desk.

Common questions
I did not get my sign-in code
Codes arrive by text message and expire after fifteen minutes. If one does not arrive, wait a moment and ask for another; there is a limit on how many can be requested in an hour. If text messages are not reaching you at all, ask for a sign-in link by email instead.
I have a new phone
Install Steading and sign in with the same phone number or email address. Your history is on the server, not on the device, so nothing is lost. Notifications will start arriving on the new phone once you have signed in and allowed them.
The app says I need to update
Older versions are switched off when they can no longer talk to the server safely. Update from the App Store or Google Play and it will let you back in.
I am getting too many notifications
Every channel has its own setting — everything, mentions only, or nothing at all — and there is a quiet-hours window that applies across the whole app. Please change those before muting Steading entirely.
I am a parent and want to change what my child can do
Open your child’s settings from your own account. You control direct messaging, private channels, quiet hours, and whether you can read their direct messages. If you turn that last one on or off, your child is told — that is deliberate and cannot be switched off.
I want my photographs or messages removed
Write to privacy@steading.family. Please read the retention section of the privacy policy first: deleting inside the app hides content rather than erasing it, because the archive is meant to be permanent. Actual erasure is done by hand.
Reporting something serious
If you believe someone’s account has been compromised, or you have found a security problem, write to security@steading.family and it will be looked at first.
